Greening the Great Glebe Garage Sale

on .

The Great Glebe Garage sale on Saturday, May 27 is a fabulous annual event organized by the Glebe Community Association.

As always, sellers are encouraged to donate 10% of sale proceeds to the Ottawa Food Bank. In addition, various organizations use the GGGS to raise funds and/or awareness while encouraging environmental stewardship and the responsible and pro-active disposal of leftover items. Instead of sending unsold, unwanted items to the landfill, donate them!

Donating leftover items for re-use or recycling

This is an environmental partnership initiative between the Environment Committee of the Glebe Community Association, the TWIGS Club at Glebe Collegiate Institute, and Glebe St. James United Church.

Free trees!

Ecology Ottawa volunteers will distribute thousands of free saplings to residents and shoppers throughout the neighbourhood during the GGGS — the single largest one-day distribution of trees Ottawa has ever seen!

Ecology Ottawa’s “Great Glebe GREEN Garage Sale” will once again be located at the corner of Bank and Glebe in the Kunstadt and former Rogers Plus parking lots. This year, instead of collecting donations to re-sell, they will host a fun community zone and give away thousands of free trees in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday! There will be a veggie BBQ, public washrooms, a water bottle filling station, music, kids' activities and more! Come get your free sapling(s)!
